"He'll turn savage!"

We have 2 dogs that live in front of our house. One is a male and one is a female. They are both muts.

In our little house we do not have a garbage disposal (shocker!) so the dogs do the job. Often, mom gives them leftovers or bones, etc.

The other day, mom was making fried chicken and gave the dogs the uncooked bones. The neighbor boy (about 16) was watching her, totally in awe! He said "Is that meat boiled!" Mom says "no". He looked at her very upset and said, "If you give the dog raw meat, he'll turn savage!"

So, mom kinda played along and said, "Oohh, really!!! I didn't know that! wow... we don't want him to turn savage! humm.... well, next time, I'll boil the meat for the dogs. . . I'm sorry, I didn't know that!"

The boy looked satisfied and let her off that time . . . like mom is going to boil the meat next time!

So, later in the afternoon there sits the dog in the empty lot next to our house just as doscile as ever!
