Milk in a Bag

Milk here in India comes in a small square bag. That's nice.

How does one get the milk OUT of the bag and INTO the glass? Aaahh. . . . that involves more skill. Skill that I have not yet prefected.

We tried holding the bag over the glass and snipping the bottom corner off. This posed 2 problems. 1- the sniped off part falls into the cup and then you have to fish it out later. 2-before you are finished cutting the bag, it sprays out straight into your eye. Not that I speak from personal experience. . . ahem.

But, when you snip off the top, and pour it in to the glass, it does not come out of the bag in a steady stream . . . it is a bit more like Niagra, and the more gentley you poor, the milk slides down the edge of the bag and not into the glass.

You see the delima. So, if you have any ideas, let me know!

how about poke it with a pen or something?? Sounds like quite a dilemma! :)

How about put the bag in a pitcher, make a slit on one side and let it run out? Of course, my public health self would be sure to wash the bag well first!!!

Jonathan said the milk in Quebec came in a bag and they would place it in a pitcher, then cut a corner. Any luck?
