Baking Bread!

One of the things I like the most about my mom is that she can make something great out of nothing. She can make anything from scratch. I mean, she can make the noodles for lasagna if she had to- she is a great woman. So, this week we got a lesson in making bread. This is mom mixing up the dough.

Ruthie kneading the dough. . .

Hana kneading the dough. . .

Then, mom taught us how to braid the bread with 4 "sticks" of dough. The trick is that you are supposed to start in the middle! I had always tried to go from one end to the other. But, for it to work, you have to start in the center of the loaf.

We messed up the first time, so we mashed it all up and started again!

The bread in the pan before it is baked. Ruthie's on the left and mine on the right.

Tadaaa! The final product.... yumm!
