Iowa Corn!

We are at the height of the Iowa Sweet Corn season. Angie's grandpa plants several rows on their farm. We went out one day and picked a few ears. Angie's Grandpa is the classic old time Iowa farmer. He knows everything there is to know about fishing, growing plants and tanking care of cattle... not to mention sweet corn. I decided to freeze some of my corn so I could have it in the winter time. It was a big production and this is where we started- ears of corn.
Then we husk it...
This is the lady I live with, Helen. Lucky for me, she knows all about canning and freezing, so she helped me.
The next step is to boil the corn, put it on ice to cool it, and then cut all the corn off the cob. We put it into a big bowl like this. Then, I put 2 cups into a small bag and filled it with water, a little bit of salt and a little bit of sugar and put it in the freezer. Now, I will have corn all winter long!
