Chicago

This past fall, Angie and I took a little trip to Chicago! It was a great trip and we had a lot of fun. We stayed outside Chicago and took the train into the city every day. This is the train station.

Sears Tower Chicago River

Macy's (which used to be Marshal Fields- a sore subject for many) But, just as beautiful none the less.

They always have a story that they tell through the windows around the ground floor. This year, it was the story of the Nutcracker. After walking all around the windows, we decided to go into the store. Not to buy anything, of course, but to look at the grand tree in the Walnut Room. This year, it was decorated by Martha Stewart.

The great tree.

Then, we decided it was time to get some fresh air outside and found one of the greatest parts of our trip! An ice skating rink! In Millennium Park! I almost fell over I was so excited....
And so we skated down town.
We went up to see the bean, a must when you go to Chicago.

That evening, we went to Central Plaza and saw the Christmas tree all decorated- wow- that's a lot of lights!
We then met my cousin and his girlfriend for pizza (yummm) and sat and talked for hours.
Next day was rainy and wet, so we went to the museums. We went through the Art Institute. This is the Field Museum.
Taking the subway home. Angie had her "game face" on so as to keep us protected.
Riding home on the train.
Our last day was fun. We spent it in the smaller, outer parts of Chicago looked at all the shops, had a cup of coffee and a long breakfast before leaving town.

What a great Holiday!
