Today, we explored old Indian cliff
dwellings. Their homes were built into the side of a huge rock with a strong defense wall on the outside and passageways from room to room on the inside. This site is set up so we can climb behind the wall to see where families of Indians used to live.

The
view of the mountains from inside the dwelling.

Melodee and I chatting back and forth- the rooms we are standing in would house one whole family. Many times, 6 people slept in a space 7ft by 8ft.

The Indians made blocks out of clay and walls out of blocks.
Archaeologists today are stunned by how level and
straight their walls, corners and edges were.
