To Mow or not to Mow
As fall descends on Central Iowa, we are confronted with the puzzling question: do we mow the yard one last time, or do we just hold our breath and wait for the frost? For most people, this isn't such a big quandary- just wait it out. But, I find myself in a bit of a different situation. The neighbor behind me, with whom I share the longest line of yard, is a turfologist. Yes, you read right- turfologist. . . as in "the study of turf". Needless to say, his yard is immaculate, lush and green- in November! The lot line is very clear as you look onto my yard full of yellow greenish dying grass with scattered areas of totally dead grass. So, in light of this new information, i pose the question again, do I mow, or not mow?

mow that shit, crap, I'll come mow it for you
A turfologist??! Seriously? Wow. I'd say bake some cookies for the neighbor ;)
Don't mow - don't give into the peer pressure! The frost will come...the leaves will blow...it will be fine. If you'll enjoy mowing and how it looks then do it. If not...no worries, spend your time enjoying the fall :)
