Iowa Bound

After much prayer, counsel and seeking the Lord, I have decided to go to Oskaloosa, Iowa for nursing school.

That sounds very godly, doesn't it!? Here is the real story:

I had pretty much decided to go to Chicago. So, I thought I should inform the Lord of the plan. I could live with my Auntie Verna, go to community college out there, they have some really good churches, you know, and it really would be great!

.... Well, the Lord didn't really see it my way. No lightning bolt from heaven, but I just knew that wasn't where the Lord wanted me. I knew he wanted me in Iowa, but , you know, I had to try out all the other possible options- just to make sure!

So, Memphis, Lexington, no, no, no.

Iowa had it and I knew it.

And, I have walked with the Lord long enough to know 2 things about NOT doing what He wants you to do the first time:
  1. You Will end up where the Lord wants you.
  2. You will be completely miserable until you do what the Lord wants, go where the Lord wants you.

So, I am Iowa Bound!

Now, all that sounds like I am not excited to go. But, the truth is that I am STINKIN excited!!! The main draw is the church. My grandparents lived in Oskaloosa and so did my parents when they first got married. The church supports my family in so many way and they are such wonderful people.

A great couple from the church has asked me to say with them (!!!) and I am really excited about that. It is all falling into place and most importantly, I know I am going where the Lord wants me.

So, I'll go back to America in Jan. And be in Iowa around Feb. 1. Lord willing, I'll be accepting at Indian Hills and start classes the end of May. So, I am thrilled to bits about it!
