Blisters

I do a lot of cooking in our house and we have an oven. It is the kind of oven that goes on top of the stove. I made 6 or 7 or 5 layer dinner the other night. (does the name change by the number of ingredients?)

I put it on the table and took the lid off. As I did, the lid tipped over my hand and settled on my forearm. I heard it go tssststststttssstst!!! (sound effects for J & K)

I looked at my skin and it just wasn't there anymore! I put ice and aloe vera on it but it hurt so bad! The next morning, I looked at it, and I had a FULL blister 2" long and 1" wide on my arm! It really looks bad. Now, it is only 1" by 1".

I was doing a study on blisters though- they form and create a fluid to keep the layer of skin underneath protected until it heals. It is like a water balloon that keeps what ought to be out, out and what ought to be in, in. Isn't that amazing!

Thanks for the sound effect. I could almost visualize (or was it, 'hear'?) your skin burning.
