But, none the less I leave in less than a week. As is my custom before I leave a country, I have made a list of things I will miss and things I will not miss and things I am looking forward to. I'll share a few of them with you.
Things I will miss about India:
- Bike rides to the post office
- Market day!
- Buying fruits and vegies on the street
- FULL SUN
- Ooh-so-good Indian Food
- Fighting with the post man to sell me stamps
- Beautiful fabrics at unbelievable prices
- Hena tattoos
- Afternoon tea on the Veranda
- Making breakfast for my parents
- All the wonderful people I have made friends with.
Things I will NOT miss about India
- Our Neighbor who sings all 6 verses of Holy, Holy, Holy at 5:00 in the morning.
- People staring at me because I am white
- Making supper in the dark
- Eating super in the dark
- Having the power come on during supper and saying "If I could have seen thins, I would never have served it!"
- Turning the lights back out to finish supper
- Bloomin' slow internet
- Potholes (canyons) in the road
- Trying to make American food with Indian ingredients
- Living between the Hindu Temple and the Muslim Mosque
Things I am looking forward to in America
- Being in the land of perpetual availability
- Walmart $3 bin
- Goodwill
- Dollar store
- Understanding people's English
- Seeing family
- Seeing MELODEE!!!
- Wearing a coat and scarf and boots (and actually needing them)
- SNOW!!!
- Being able to walk 4 sides of a block and end up where you started.
- Driving my car.... fast. They don't call me "Leadfoot Lee" for no reason!
