This past week I decided it was time to do some spring cleaning and so I switched my room around a bit. I decided to change my accents to Red! Here is the finished product:
Here is my bed and brand new bulletin board- I'll have you know that I made it all by myself!

My brand new (to me) desk all clean and set in front of my window!

Thursday, I went up to Des Moines for a few days. Aaron also was going, so we decided to travel together. Aaron's brother and sister-in-law (Pug and Ryan) live in Des Moines and their son Malaki is the cutest little kid ever! He is not a big fan of clothes- as you can see.

After we arrived, and Malaki was dressed, it was time to go play in the park- so Uncle Aaron was begged to take Malaki in the "buggy"

So, off we went to the park. It is just down the street from their house, and it was such a beautiful day!

Pug also watches another boy during the day- Ean. So, the boys played in the park while Pug and I sat in some shade and relaxed a bit.

It wasn't long before it was time for a little baseball! I have learned that people in Iowa are big into baseball. I have actually learned quite a bit since being here. .... lets see. You are supposed to hit the ball with the bat, you are supposed to kick when you pitch the ball, I have learned how to throw and catch and all kinds of good stuff. Malaki is a good little player and beat me on more than one occasion!

Uncle Aaron showing Malaki how to hold the bat the best way.

Malaki pitches....
And Hana misses!
Then it was my turn to bat and Malaki did really well- he even hit it into the tennis court! I was all excited because we got to climb the fence to rescue the ball, but Aaron just walked around the side and slid it under the fence.... hummm. Gotta be smarter than the fence. So, there was no climbing.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Malaki loves my camera because he can see himself in it after the picture is taken and he loves to go back and look at all the pictures- This is at Pug and Ryan's house.
Thursday evening, we had a Girl's night out and went to the Olive Garden and had a blast. Pug and I had plenty of laughs that evening.
Here is Angie sipping her "slushy". Angie also lives in Des Moines and grew up in Oskaloosa. She works for the newspaper up in Des Moines, and I spent the night at her apartment. She often comes back to Oskaloosa on the weekends and so I spend quite a bit of time with her.
Angie and I stayed up a little late on Thursday night, and she had to go to work in the morning. So, I got up with her and went over to Pug and Ryan's house. Ean and I both took a morning nap.
Meanwhile, Aaron made Chai for all of us... ummm, ummm good!
Later that day, we went downtown to have a picnic in a park. We go there to find out that there were no seats, so we sat on the ground. Clockwise it is Angie, Ean, Me, Luke (a friend of Aaron's) Pug, Aaron and Kai.
Angie and I eating our Sun Chips. It was an absolutely gorgeous day! Sunny and warm but not too warm and just perfect for a picnic.
Uncle Aaron shows Malaki how to clean his fingers after eating too much chocolate. Aaron has had plenty of practice at that!!
Later that night, we all went out for Aaron's birthday party.
From the left it is Malaki, Pug, Ryan, Luke, Angie, me, Aaron and Del and Marilyn (Aaron and Ryan's parents) We had a great time!
Malaki blew out Aaron's candle before he got a chance, but we all enjoyed his birthday Sunday!
Saturday afternoon, I made Indian food. I went to the store at 8:00 and started cooking at 9:00. It was a little bit crazy, but it turned out really well and I so enjoyed it!
Derrick came to help me cut up vegies and really wasn't too excited to have his picture taken, but he was a good chap!
Here I am in the kitchen working on getting the cutlets finished. It was a lot of work, but I really did enjoy making all the food an cooking it!
We all sat down and ate about 12:30.
Aaron is at the end with Derrick to the right and to the left Angie, Jamie and Ryan and Brad. Brand and Derrick and Angie are all siblings. Jamie is the second daughter of the people I stay with and she is married to Ryan.
This is Derrick, Ryan and Pug (2 different Ryan's)and Malaki.
Pug and Kai, me, Brad and Ryan.
This is the "kids" table! Del and Marilyn Johnson on the left and Mike and Diane on the right. I stay with Mike and Diane and this is the living room! We really had a great time and everybody enjoyed the Indian food!
