Cultural Center in Chicago.

While my mom and I were in Chicago, we went to the Lake Shore Cultural Center. It was a building built for the World's Fair in 1920. It is not currently used for anything on a daily basis, but people rent it out. It is huge and has beautiful, ornate rooms that overlook the lake.

Lake Michigan.

We also went to Rockefeller Chapel. It is a church in an older part of the city.

It is famous for these writings above the doors.

We were able to wonder through and see where the Pope sits when he comes.

While we were there, men were working on restructuring the inside of the church. Because of this, all the door and passages were open.
So, I found a door that unlocked and a winding staircase. This staircase was about 3 feet wide and kept going up and up and up....

to the roof!

I followed the path around the ridge of the roof to the four towers- it was amazing! The view was breathtaking!

When I reached the last tower, there was a locked door and a pit going down into total darkness. Using my better judgement, I decided it was the end of the road and went all the way back through the four towers.

As we were leaving, we tried to read the inscription on these doors. As best we can understand, it says " Day unto Day uttereth Speech. Night unto night gleanith Knowledge." No idea what it means, but that is what it says.
We then went to Buckingham fountain ...

And to Millennium Park.
