India... in Chicago?

Mom and I went to the Indian part of town and I have to say, if there was a cow in the middle of the road, I would have thought I was back in India- it was great! All the signs looked Indian and the street looked like it was straight out of Bangalore.
We went into a shop and the colors of the fabrics and the smell of the incense was incredible! It was so familiar and I have missed it so much! I never thought I would do this but I actually took a deep breath of the incense that filled the shop. It took all my willpower not to buy one of these outrageously priced skirts. Then, we went for lunch at an Indian restaurant. We met Rajiv, an Indian friend, and sat for hours.
We ate Indian food, more Indian food and more Indian food. They just kept bringing it to the table and we kept eating it. By "we", of course, I mean "I"

Rajiv and me outside a sari shop. Mom with Rajiv after she bought him some yummy food. And, my all time favorite fruit- mangoes!

Oh wow!!! I'll bet you were in heaven! We love the African stores in Lyon - the smells are authentic! (Dried fish, incense, and rice.)

Thanks for sharing in photos and update!
