Day 13
Today, we made tracks. We had enjoyed our time in Kansas, but we were looking toward the West. We drove most of the day and saw very little. Among the things we did see was a turtle. Melodee's number three! She helped it across the street . . . road . . . path we were driving on.
Other than the turtle, we saw a few cows, a few horses and a few tumbleweeds. But, no people, no cars for hundreds of miles. Then, off in the distance, we saw something that looked like mountains. At closer examination- they were! We had finally made it through the planes and hit the Rockies. I cannot explain our elation.
