A day at the beach

As many of you know, my dog had his leg amputated a few weeks ago. Before he had his leg off, he was a very strong swimmer, and has not been in the water since. So, three weeks after his surgery, I decided it was time to go to the beach. We went to Lake Red Rock, which for Iowa is a pretty big lake and spent the day in the water. He did so well! I thought he may swim in a circle for a while, but he just jumped in and started swimming like nothing was different, I was such a proud mama!!! The only thing that threw him for a loop was that I would throw the stick and then swim with him out to get it and race him back to shore- he kept looking at me like "what are you doing out here?"
