A Christmas Parade

Every year, we have a Christmas parade with 50 or so floats that "float" around our little square.
So, my friends who live a block away, had dinner party before the parade and hot chocolate after.

I headed over to their house with my dog on one hand and a basket of fresh baked bread and cookies in the other. I might add all the while I was hoping not to slip on the ice as my dog pulled me forward!

We had a supper of homemade tomato soup and then walked down to the square to watch the parade. It was 22 degrees and we sure felt it! This is where we stand there freezing our toes off, and dreaming of hot chocolate with whipped cream (okay, maybe that was just me.)
They were as good as their promise and made wonderful hot chocolate- no packets either, this was the real deal!

It was such a lovely small town evening- maybe the beginning of a tradition?

Sounds like a wonderful tradition.

How about sharing that bread recipe?
