This was simply a perfect day! I woke up to a steady snow falling outside my windows! This for some of you may not sound like a great way to start a day, but for a girl who grew up in Russia, it doesn't get any better!
Being cosy and warm inside, I decided it would be a good day to bake. I made pumpkin cookies with white chocolate chips and cinnamon chips (yes, there is such a thing). They were awesome- if I do say so myself. But, 2 dozen cookies isn't too good for the waste line, so I gave a large plate to a girl who is moving into the apartment below me. AJ ate the other half- He was off work today because of the snow, so he made us lunch and then, the best part of the day....
We took a walk out in the freshly fallen snow- AJ, my puppy and me. AJ decided it would be great if he could keep his feet dry and warm, so he tied plastic bags around his shoes. This was slightly effective, only plastic bags in 5 inches of freshly fallen snow tends to make one slip and fall- especially if one is being chased by his sister and a snowball! We had a great time- a huge snowball fight, of which my dog ended up being the main target. He had a ball! He loves the snow and would run around in it for hours if he could.
Then, alas, it was off to work with me- I leave town at 2:00 in the afternoon to start my shift and get home around midnight.
It was one of those days where I was so happy to be exactly where I am and totally content to be doing what I am doing- quite a rare phenomena for us missionary kids!

Yeah it is!! That's great.
Fabulous post - thanks for sharing. It is rare to have one of those days and it's nice even to read about one.
